Fashion Festival Sydney kicks off

Fashion fans will be flocking to see the latest designs on the catwalk in Sydney.

Fans of fashion who are taking flights to Sydney will be treated to the sights and sounds of this year's Fashion Festival Sydney.

Kicking off on August 23rd 2011, the show takes place in Sydney Town Hall and will run until August 27th.

A raft of catwalk shows are being held, with tickets available for people to see the designs and models close up.

Designers set to show off their creations over the course of the week include the likes of Sass & Bide, Josh Goot and Lisa Maree Australia.

There are also a series of other events taking place around the city to celebrate the occasion, with stores holding special shopping events and restaurants and bars hosting high teas and cocktail evenings.

People on flights to Sydney will soon be able to see the waxworks of some of the world's most famous faces in the city, as Madame Tussauds is set to open a venue at Darling Harbour.
