Cairns to display men in fascinators exhibition People on flights to Cairns who want to take in some interesting exhibitions during their stay could enjoy the Man vs Fascinator project.

The photographic show is being staged in the city as part of the Cairns Festival and showcases a variety of men wearing the fascinators owned by their partners.

Described by the organisers on cairns.co.au as being a "sociophotograpic exhibition", the showcase was the creation of Eric Holowacz and was photographed by Jake Nowakowski, who explained that he liked how ironic and absurd the idea was.

"Fascinators are quirky objects that do not make sense. The 32 participants are man enough to be part of it and brave enough to have a laugh," Mr Nowakowski told the news provider.

The show is free to attend and runs at the Circa Gallery until September 3rd 2011.

Culture vultures who have taken flights to Cairns and are planning to travel around the country still have time to head to Sydney to attend the city's Fashion Festival.
