Wallabies return to Sydney Football StadiumPeople taking flights to Sydney to see the Australian nation rugby team play will have to travel to Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) from this season on, as it has been confirmed as their new home.

The team, which is nicknamed the Wallabies, has been based at the Sydney ANZ Stadium since 1998, after having played at the SFS from 1989 to the year they left.

However, the test rugby side are now set to play there until at least 2012, with the team set to kick off its season against Wales next June.

Australian Rugby Union chief John O'Neill said: "There were some wonderful rugby moments at the SFS between 1989 and 1998 and we look forward to many more over the next decade."

Those taking flights to Sydney soon could find that the city is warmer than they had expected, as the south of the country is currently experiencing the warmest August on record.
