Australians urged to suggest holiday locations People taking flights to Australia could be interested in hearing about a new initiative to get people living in the country putting forward their favourite places to visit.

While the There's Nothing Like Australia campaign is aimed primarily at driving domestic tourism and getting residents to explore more of their own country, the results could also be of interest to people who are coming from overseas.

"When we invited Australians to get involved in promoting what is special and unique about their country last year to the rest of the world the results were amazing," said Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy.

He said that the ideas gathered will be put together to create an interactive map which can be used by global travellers.

Some people could be planning to travel on flights to Australia with Emirates next year, after the airline was announced as a sponsor of the Australian Open.
