Australia very attractive to Brits Some people on cheap flights to Australia may not be planning to come back again as the country is full of attractive reasons to stay.

The culture and lifestyle of Australia is very similar to that of the UK but has many more attributes which make it an appealing place to live, according to Tom Blackett, spokesperson for the Australian Visa Bureau.

He said that as well as the pub culture, love of cricket and good weather, other things which would appeal to those thinking of moving include its second place ranking on the United Nations Human Development Index, which assesses whether people can live to their full potential.

"Throw more than 10,000 beaches and almost perpetual summer into the mix and you can see why Australia is a great place to move to," Mr Blackett added.

Those looking for cheap flights to Australia could decide to head to Melbourne, after the city topped this year's poll from the Economist Intelligence Unit to find the world's most liveable city.
