Deckchairs to be put out in Sydney People on cheap flights to Sydney who want to put their feet up on arrival will soon be able to relax in a deck chair in the city.

The lord mayor of the city Clover Moore has announced that it will be playing host to a Chairs in the Square project this year, which will see 190 of the items of furniture put out in Sydney Square and Barrack Street Wynyard.

Cafe chairs and tables will also be put out in the areas and will remain in place for six months as part of the City of Sydney 2030 vision for the future initiative.

"Come and enjoy a bit of sun in our free deck chairs over this spring and summer," Ms Moore said.

Some people on cheap flights to Sydney who want to relax in one of the chairs could be those who visit the Sydney Vintage Clothing, Jewellery and Textiles Show, which is taking place later this month.
