Qantas to resume flights People who have booked flights to Australia with Qantas may be pleased to hear that the airline has announced it is to resume flights again.

The carrier had been forced to ground all of its planes over the weekend due to industrial action, but the intervention of the Australian government meant that Fair Work Australia has granted the application for all action to be cancelled.

As a result, there will now be 21 days of negotiations carried out between the airline and the associated workers unions.

Qantas chief executive officer Alan Joyce said: "This is a good outcome that will enable us to begin operating flights this afternoon (October 31st 2011) on a limited schedule with the approval of the regulator."

People who take flights to Australia frequently with Qantas may be interested to hear the carrier has recently introduced a new frequent fliers programme with the introduction of its Platinum One pass for its most loyal customers.
