Virgin Australia scoops reader award

Virgin Australia has been given the award for best airline for flights to Australia and New Zealand.

People taking flights to New Zealand with Virgin Australia could be happy to hear they are using an award-winning service.

The carrier has been named as the best company offering flights to Australia and New Zealand by readers of Global Traveller USA magazine.

Commercial group executive Liz Savage said the win was a great endorsement of the service it provides.

"This award reflects the opinions of our guests and readers of Global Traveller magazine on one of the world's longest, non-stop flights," Ms Savage said.

The company also had another reason to celebrate, as it was named as the best champagne in international business class for its Lanson Gold Label Brut 1999 by the same publication.

Some people taking flights to New Zealand with the airline from Heathrow Airport before Christmas could decide to take advantage of a present wrapping service which is being offered once passengers have passed through security.
