Festival for Youth Theatre now open in Dubai

Anyone heading out on flights to Dubai from now until August 20th may wish to take their theatre binoculars along.

The city is to play host to the Festival for Youth Theatre, a spectacle that aims to showcase the best new talent the United Arab Emirates has to offer, as well as providing entertainment for visitors.

A new play will be performed every night and entry is free of charge.

Yasser Al Gergawi, general coordinator of Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre, said: "The Festival, now in its second year, presents a great opportunity for budding actors and for the youth of the country.

"It is also a great opportunity for people to see high quality theatre by the young people of the nation. It is a great summer activity for families."

Dubai is also to host its International Jewellery Week from November 11th to 15th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
