Trade Arabia reports that the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched its first double-decker bus service designed to assist people travelling between Al Ghubaiba to Al Jubail and Al Rolla.

The buses are double-deckers and can accommodate 114 people.

One passenger, Shiraj Bhanu, commented on the new service: "It was a pleasant surprise for me this morning as I saw one of the buses parked at the Bur Dubai bus station. My first trip was terrific."

An additional coach service is expected to be launched between Dubai and Abu Dhabi within the next two months.

Earlier this month, it was reported that a Metro system which will enable tourists to travel easily from place to place had been tested in Dubai.

The £2 billion project is expected to be launched in September 2009, with full completion due for 2012.Meet the editors...
