People on holidays to Dubai have been wowed by the entertainment offered as part of the Eid festival.

Albawaba reports that thousands of people thronged the city's streets yesterday (September 30th) to enjoy a 25-minute firework display, which also included a co-ordinated laser and water fountain show.

The day marked the Muslim holiday of Eid-Al-Fitr and also saw a fun fair, a heritage zone and a horse riding centre grace the city streets.

Albawaba commented: "The Festival Centre stage in the mall attracted the most crowds with Arab singers and a huge ensemble of musicians playing various songs and music from countries across the Middle East."

Eid-Al-Fitr, often abbreviated to Eid, is a public holiday and three-day celebration which marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

It begins in different countries at different times and is marked by the official sighting of the new moon.

Families traditionally congregate for a day of feasts and celebrations afterwards, also exchanging gifts.
