Dubais ambitions reach sky-highOfficials in Dubai have unveiled plans to build a skyscraper over a kilometre high in the heart of the city.

The as-yet unnamed tower will be situated in the Nakheel port and harbour complex and will have over 200 floors, making it the tallest building in the world.

In exciting news for people on holidays to Dubai, visitors will be able to see the sunset twice from the building using high speed lifts to get quickly from the bottom to the top.

In addition, the temperature at the top of the building could be as much as 10 degrees cooler than at the bottom.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, chairman of Dubai World, said: "It sends another message to the world that Dubai has a vision like no other place on Earth."

When completed, the skyscraper will be taller than the CN Tower in Toronto (553.3 metres), as well as the yet-to-be-completed Burj Dubai, which had reached 707 metres as of September this year.
