Dubai 'best value before Christmas'

People on the lookout for some sunshine and warm weather following the recent drop in temperatures in Britain may wish to head out on holidays to Dubai before Christmas, one newspaper has suggested.

People on the lookout for some sunshine and warm weather following the recent drop in temperatures in Britain may wish to head out on holidays to Dubai before Christmas, one newspaper has suggested.

According to the Times, Middle Eastern destinations such as Dubai are virtually guaranteed to get plenty of sun even at this time of year, with the best time to travel being the two weeks prior to the festive season.

It comments that this is because prices will have dipped thanks to children being at school, while work for many people is likely to be quiet.

Earlier this month, Alan Leibman, president of Dubai's new Atlantis resort, said that the city can offer families good value for money, despite it being publicised as a luxury and expensive destination.

He told the Sydney morning Herald that "Dubai is still good value when you're paying in pounds, [or] you're paying in euros."Meet the editors...
