Air France has marked its 75th anniversary by reviving aircraft livery dating from 1946 for one of its planes, according to reports.

Air France has marked its 75th anniversary by reviving aircraft livery dating from 1946 for one of its planes, according to reports.

Travel Counsellors said one of the airline's Airbus A320s will now carry the vintage design for the next two years.

According to the site, the design incorporates the head of mythological Greek steed Pegasus with the tail of legendary Chinese dragon Annam to symbolise the joining of east and west.

Francois Brousse, the carrier's head of corporate communications, said the move highlights Air France's "rich historic and cultural heritage".

"This livery corresponds to the era when the first jet planes were introduced into the Air France fleet, and the airline's rebirth after the war, when it's network already covered five continents," she commented.

The site noted that the design was applied with environmentally-friendly paint that uses less solvent than conventional coatings.

Air France serves 258 destinations worldwide, carrying around 74,795 passengers a year. Meet the editors...
