Austrian Airlines has received a number of accolades at a recent aviation ceremony in Frankfurt.

Austrian Airlines has received a number of accolades at a recent aviation ceremony in Frankfurt.

Readers of Business Traveller voted the carrier as bet for food and drink, as well as ranking it in second place for Best Airline in Europe, Best Cabin Staff and Best Ground Staff.

The company also received praise for its safety provisions at the ceremony on January 16th.

Alfred Otsch, chief executive of the carrier, said he was pleased that customers were happy with its culinary offerings, as well as its customer-focused staff.

"This consistent customer orientation makes us unmistakeable and unique by comparison with our international competitors," he added.

Earlier this month, Austrian Airlines announced that it is to expand its seating capacity on flights to Dubai by as much as 20 per cent thanks to the introduction of a new Boeing 767 with 235 seats.
