Dubai - A girls guide to the emirate cityHolidays to Dubai are becoming ever more popular, particularly since the city has been adopted as a playground for footballers and frequently gets a mention in the celebrity gossip magazines.

However, for those women visiting Dubai who do not have millions in the bank and a well-travelled Premier League husband to show them round, Nisha Lilia Diu of the Telegraph has put together a list of things to do.

Firstly, of course, is shopping at the Dubai Mall. Then, visitors could try a trip to the aquarium at Atlantis the Palm, which is one of the biggest in the world.

Other activities Ms Diu puts forward are dune driving in a desert buggy and a trip to the Souq Al Bastakiya street market for authentic handicrafts and clothes.

With all these things to do, ladies on holidays in Dubai are guaranteed to feel as though they stepped right off the set of Footballers' Wives.

Anyone in need of flights to the emirate city could consider booking with Emirates.
