People going on holidays to Dubai this month could be lucky enough to catch a world-renowned jazz festival that takes place in the emirate each year.

The Dubai International Jazz Festival will be held from February 18th to 27th this year at the Media City venue.

Having first taken place in 2002, the event now attracts more than 25,000 people every year and has drawn in more than 150,000 people in total, its official website attests.

Stars due to perform include John Legend and James Blunt, while Jamie Cullum has also been known to put in an appearance in the past.

"Jamming sessions are held at nearby venues and there is an arts and crafts village," the website comments.

Genres also covered include blues, funk, swing and fusion, lovers of world music may be interested to hear.

People looking for flights to Dubai could consider booking them with Virgin Atlantic or Emirates.
