Footballer Defoe chooses holidays in Dubai to recuperate from injury

Tottenham Hotspur footballer Jermain Defoe has jetted off on holiday to Dubai with his girlfriend Chantelle Houghton while he recuperates from an injury.

Footballer Defoe chooses holidays in Dubai to recuperate from injury

Tottenham Hotspur footballer Jermain Defoe has jetted off on holiday to Dubai with his girlfriend Chantelle Houghton while he recuperates from an injury.

The player suffered a freak injury to his toe in training recently and was forced to take a month off, so took the opportunity to head for the emirate in order to chill out in the sunshine.

Houghton, best known for appearing in Celebrity Big Brother, certainly seemed to be enjoying herself as she frolicked in the waves and laughed with Defoe while photographers looked on.

Meanwhile, Defoe had to hop onto the beach with crutches.

"Things are going brilliantly. He makes so happy and it's such a good feeling," said 25-year-old Houghton.

Defoe is in good company with his liking for Dubai - David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are all fans of the beachside city and the latter two men have second homes there.Meet the editors...
