British people want recession-beating adventuresPeople from the UK are seeking holidays to Dubai and other destinations so that they can find some excitement while the credit crunch continues.

This is according to Chris Gallon, who recently managed the Directions holiday and Travel show in London and who pointed out that people are more concerned about letting their hair down on holiday than they are about being responsible.

"I think 'soft' adventure is what the sorts of visitors from Destinations do, so they can get involved in some culture and do something which is slightly out of the ordinary," he remarked.

Mr Gallon added that these adventures could include horse riding and staying in traditional accommodation, both of which could be done by Brits on holidays to Dubai.

According to the Kuoni long haul report published recently, holidays to Thailand are also becoming increasingly popular thanks to its diversity and appeal to a wide range of different travellers.
