Emirate introduces E-Zone for business class loungesEmirates Airlines has announced that it has implemented E-Zone technology in its business class lounges after a trial period.

In what could be good news for people going on flights to Dubai for business, the technology was developed with Microsoft and provides a number of different functions that people can use while waiting for their flight.

Neetan Chopra, vice-president of IT for the carrier, said the response during the trials had been extremely positive.

"E-Zone adds a unique layer to our service offering. It highlights the company's commitment to providing its travellers with the most sophisticated services," he added.

Functions include an interactive destination guide with information about all the locations covered by Emirates flights, as well as photographs that can be viewed through a world map.

Last month, it was announced that there was an 11 per cent increase in the number of Emirates passengers passing through Dubai International Airport in 2008.
