Holidays to Dubai offer an all-in-one tripA holiday that can provide a range of different experiences in one destination is becoming increasingly important for Britons.

This is according to Susan D'Arcy, writing for the Times, who said that while the recession continues to squeeze people' finances, they do not want to sacrifice the fun that a trip abroad can offer.

She suggested opting for a destination that can provide beaches, cultural experiences, nightlife and something fun to do all in one go.

Dubai was particularly highlighted as a destination which could pull this off thanks to its contradictions of desert and city life.

Dune-bashing and sunset camel rides just outside the emirate would provide the much-needed "adrenaline kick", Ms D'Arcy said.

Earlier this month, DK Eyewitness author Lara Dunston said that people should not be put off by the media perception of Dubai, which often paints it as glamorous but shallow.

She said that it actually offers a rich cultural landscape and an interesting history.
