New Emirates lounge to open at Manchester AirportIn good news for business travellers on flights to Dubai from Manchester, a new dedicated lounge for Emirates Airline passengers is to open at the north-western hub this year.

It will be the first non-UK airline at the airport to have such a facility, which will include free internet access, a business centre, shower facilities, seating and a bar.

The new lounge coincides with Emirates' move from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport, which will take place on June 1st.

Two flights a day go from Dubai to Manchester and back and the move will allow the airline to offer services to Manchester on its A380 superjumbo.

Salem Obaidalla, Emirates spokesperson, told Crain's Manchester Business: "The forthcoming opening of the Manchester lounge represents the latest step of a continuing and substantial worldwide investment at our airports."

Manchester Airport is one of the UK's biggest regional hubs, dealing with over 22.7 million passengers per year flying to 225 destinations, according to the Times.
