Holidays to Dubai are perfect for people who want a luxury resort with plenty to do.

This is according to Murdo Morrison of FlightGlobal.com, who said that the emirate has risen from a sleepy port 20 years ago to become the bustling metropolis it is today.

He said that Dubai houses some of the world's best golf courses and that sailing is "unrivalled".

"Cultural, sporting and leisure facilities are among the best," Mr Morrison commented, adding that this applies whether visitors want to check out a museum, watch a concert or get tickets to top sporting events such as the Grand Prix.

The expert concluded that while Dubai is completely different to destinations such as California, going there is "truly living the dream".
