Holidaymakers waste millions at airport security check pointsAlthough it may be tempting on a flight to Dubai, or other long-haul destinations, to take liquids and toiletries, travellers could be wasting millions.

This is according to the industry affairs manager from the Air Transport Users Council James Freemantle, who said thousands of bottles of liquids were being confiscated at UK airports.

"It is not worth trying it on as the airports will find out. They will find the liquid and you will lose money as a result," he warned.

A report revealed this week (July 14th) that some £60 million worth of items have been disposed of at security check points in UK airports over the last five years and 11 per cent of UK travellers do not check the regulations before they get to the airport.

People flying to Dubai for a holiday this October may wish to head to the Festival City for the Dubai Boating Festival.

Festivities include a dragon boat parade and a demonstration of a helicopter rescue and a fire fighting boat. Meet the editors...
