Fashion advice has been given to the style-conscious heading to warmer climes such as on a beach holiday to Dubai.

Neil Rodger, a celebrity fashion stylist, said that it was possible for holidaymakers to follow catwalk trends on a budget this summer.

"Sunglasses are a relatively inexpensive way of making any outfit look better. They're not beyond people's reaches," he explained.

For women, maxi dresses are a key item and accessories such as scarves and sarongs can be used in a variety of ways to liven up a beach outfit or to dress up in the evening.

Those taking a holiday in Dubai before August 14th may be able to supplement their summer wardrobe during the Dubai Summer Surprises shopping festival.

Many of the destination's malls and shopping centres offer discounts accompanied by entertainment.

According to research from the Post Office, the average value of a woman's suitcase when travelling comes to £1,276.66, compared to £1,133 for men.
