Ian Brown booked for Dubai Sound City launch party

Fans of the British indie scene have been offered a good reason to book their cheap flights to Dubai today, as it was announced that solo artist and former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown will perform at the launch party of a festival in the region.

Dubai Sound City, which is organised by David Pichilingli and is a sister event to Sound City Liverpool, is set to begin in November. However, the launch party, which is scheduled for Thursday 1st October, will feature a performance from Ian Brown.

Starting at 8pm and ending at 3am the following morning, the event will take place in the Madinat Arena and costs AED 278 (£46) on the night or AED 228 in advance.

Mr Pichilingi stated: "This will be his first outing before he hits the UK to promote his hotly anticipated brand spanking new album. What a way to start it all."
