An extended holiday in Dubai is just what cricketer Andrew Flintoff needs to recover from an injury, it appears.

English cricketer Flintoff to take lengthy holiday in Dubai

In a decision those who have been on cheap holidays in Dubai may approve of, England cricketer Andrew Flintoff is planning a long period of recuperation in the country as he recovers from a knee injury.

Accompanying him will be his wife Rachael, his daughter and their two sons.

The location is perfect for the sportsman during his period of rest, he explained, as "in Dubai, all I have to do is press the right button in the lift to get from our apartment to the gym and everything I need is on the doorstep".

He also said that the sunshine will provide a boost for the family after what has been a tiring few months for them all.

Freddie played on the England cricket team this year as it won the Ashes back from long-standing rivals Australia.

England won the second test by 115 runs, marking the first time the team ha claimed an Ashes victory at the Lord's ground since 1934.
