A whole host of "iconic developments" will dot the skyline of Dubai over the coming years, making the destination even more unique and appealing to visitors, it has been claimed.

Iconic developments to complement cheap holidays in Dubai

Dubai will be dotted with "iconic developments" in the future, it has been claimed, meaning that there could be even more reasons to book cheap flights to Dubai.

According to a representative from the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce, the emirate is to undergo impressive growth over the coming years and many major projects are planned for the region.

Its "bold and progressive attitude to growth will see a whole host of additional development initiatives open to offer an impressive portfolio of exceptional facilities", the industry insider explained.

Increasing numbers of "iconic" developments will also contiribute to the state's unique qualities and serve to attract more and more visitors in the future, they added.

This week, Dubai International Airport revealed that the number of passengers passing through the hub during the first eight months of 2009 was 26,878,331, compared to 25,182,526 for the same period of 2008 - representing a 6.7 per cent increase.
