Dubais new tower may be scaled by Frenchman The world's tallest skyscraper - Dubai's Burj Khalifa Tower - may receive a visit from an enthusiastic climber in the near future, it has been suggested.

People on holidays in Dubai may see the figure of Alain Robert negotiating the sides of the vertiginous structure in the future, as the daredevil Frenchman plans to take on the challenge of climbing it.

"I'll have to do it," he is quoted by Malaysia's official news agency Bernama as stating. "Maybe between January and April 2011."

He added that the locals and people on holidays in Dubai will be "interested" in seeing him perform the plucky stunt.

Alain Robert, who has earned the nickname 'the French Spiderman', started out as a solo climber and despite winning numerous awards and a place in the Guinness Book of Records, suffers from vertigo.
