People heading to the United Arab Emirates on flights to Dubai may be interested in an exhibition about the region's history.

Take in a cultural exhibition on holidays to Dubai

A heritage collection of exhibits offering insight into Dubai's history could be of interest to holidaymakers travelling to the emirate on flights to Dubai.

With installations dating back to the city's inception more than 3,000 years ago, it could provide an educational diversion for anyone visiting the area.

The exhibition has been set up as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival and will be situated at The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai Marina from February 15th to 28th.

Among the historical artefacts on display are bronze tools, iron products and gold and silver jewellery, excavated from a range of archaeological sites around the emirate.

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing revealed that residents in the Dubai Marina area are keen to see the items on show.

Suggestions from DTCM about historical sites for holidaymakers to visit include the 16th century Hatta village located in the Hajjar Mountains and the old Souks of Bur Dubai and Deira which represent the commercial roots of the city.
