Dubai is preparing to host one of the horse racing calendar's richest events - the Dubai World Cup.

Dubai prepares for its World Cup horse racing event

People booking flights to Dubai to coincide with the emirate's World Cup horse racing event may be interested to learn about a promotion being run to offer visitors discounted hotel rooms.

Agoda.com has announced that it will be running a number of special offers on accommodation during the competition, which will take place at the end of March.

Tourists and those with a love of horse racing are expected to flock to Dubai and head for its Meydan Racecourse on March 27th for the prestigious contest.

Michael Kenny, chief executive officer at the hotel site, described the United Arab Emirate as "one of the world's most exciting destinations".

He stated that it is a "must-visit" location for any travellers because of its "amazing architecture, fantastic shopping, strong sense of culture and unique geography".

Mr Kenny noted that the Dubai World Cup makes the experience of staying in the emirate even more special for those who arrange their trips to see the event.

Dubai recently added another striking landmark to its ranks with the official opening of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building on the globe, which boasts more than 160 floors and stands at more than 800m high.
