Dubais cruise industry still expandingAnyone who is booking holidays to Dubai with a view to travelling elsewhere before returning to the UK may like the idea of stepping on to a luxury cruise.

Earlier this week, many notable figures from the emirate attended a ceremony for the inauguration of the latest ship to join the fleet departing from Dubai.

Travellers will now be able to book on to a seven-day cruise around the Arabian Gulf, with stop offs in destinations such as Bahrain, Muscat and Abu Dhabi.

On the same day as the naming ceremony for the Costa Delizioza - the latest addition to the Costa Cruises fleet - Dubai's tourism officials also opened the region's new cruise terminal.

Hamad bin Mejren, executive director of business tourism at the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said that the organisation hopes more cruise operators will begin to use the emirate as a hub.

"We are confident that this will help expand the cruise tourism industry in the region," he stated.

Anyone staying in Dubai was advised earlier this week by model Nell McAndrew to visit the Atlanta hotel.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, she commented that the resort has "taken holidays in Dubai to a new level".
