Gucci hotel to open in DubaiFashion house Gucci has announced that it will open its first hotel in Dubai later this year, with plans to open more hotels in the future.

Anyone jetting off on flights to Dubai may decide that a stay in the Gucci hotel could be the perfect way to finish their holiday in the Middle Eastern destination.

The Gucci hotel will feature 87 rooms and is due to open by the end of 2010.

It is described as a "luxury boutique" establishment and the hotel group is named after Paulo Gucci's daughter, Elizabetta Gucci.

Lorens Ziller, managing director for Elizabetta Gucci Hotels, revealed that more resorts under the Gucci name will open in future.

"We would like to have 40 hotels in 15 years," he stated.

According to the Elizabetta Gucci website, there are two different concepts for the hotels to be rolled out. One is the boutique format, which is being trialled in Dubai, while the other is aimed at high-end business travellers.

Elizabetta Gucci (EG) Hotels will offer "the comfort of an upper-class business hotel with in-room office space".
