Respect local culture, Dubai holidaymakers told

Before heading off on cheap flights to Dubai, some research into local culture could be wise

Respect local culture, Dubai holidaymakers toldBefore jetting off on cheap flights to Dubai, Brits may want to do a little research into its culture and customs, to avoid causing any offence while enjoying a holiday in the emirate.

Product manager at Premier Holidays Nikki Hain urged holidaymakers to remember that while Dubai can feel very westernised, it is still within a Muslim country.

With so much to do in the holiday spot, she recommended those taking cheap flights to Dubai to stay for at least five nights, to soak up all that the vibrant destination has to offer. However, those on a tight schedule may find that with a seven hour flight time from the UK, a long weekend break is also possible.

Though Dubai is noted for its amazing hotels, Ms Hain urged visitors to "make time to do some excursions to see the real Dubai", which could include a visit to a camel farm or a belly dancing lesson.
