Emirates to offer new flights to Dubai

Emirates is planning to add ten more flights per week to Saudi Arabia from its Dubai base.

Emirates to offer new flights to DubaiEmirates is planning to add ten more flights per week to Saudi Arabia from its Dubai base.

The additional services will increase passenger capacity on the route by 75 per cent and follows strong demand from passengers taking flights to Dubai from Saudi Arabia.

An additional five services per week will fly to Riyadh by the end of October, while five flights to Jeddah per week will commence at the start of 2011.

"The A380 has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the Saudi market since it was introduced onto our Jeddah route in February this year," explained Ahmed Khoory, Emirates' senior vice president of commercial operations for the Gulf, the Middle East and Iran.

He added: "The launch of a second A380, Emirates' flagship aircraft, into Jeddah highlights our commitment to providing travellers in Saudi with the very latest in aircraft innovations."

The airline recently introduced a number of new flights to Dubai from Tripoli, bringing the total services per week to ten.
