Movie star Tom Cruise has been spotted hanging from Dubai's tallest building.

Movie star Tom Cruise has been spotted hanging from Dubai's tallest building.

The actor is in Dubai filming the latest instalment in the Mission Impossible series and was shooting a stunt on the outside of the Burj Khalifa building.

A helicopter was used to film the scenes, which took place around the building's Observation Deck level on the 124th floor – the building has more than 160 stories and 2,716.5ft tall.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is scheduled for release in December 2011.

Travellers planning to take flights to Dubai may be tempted to stay at the Burj Khalifa tower. The building is home to the luxury Armani Hotel, which is located on the first six floors of the downtown building. There are a range of rooms and suites available; each designed by Armani.
