Dubai hotel receives eco awardThe Courtyard Dubai has been recognised by the state's department of tourism and commerce marketing (DCTM) as part of a new environmental initiative.

Operated by Marriot, the four-star hotel came third in its category following the implementation of a number of measures designed to encourage eco-practices at the property.

DCTM introduced the Dubai Green Tourism Awards in June in a bid to ensure a greener and more environmentally friendly approach within the industry. A total of 79 establishments applied for the awards, with 33 hotels shortlisted for site visits by the panel of judges.

Eventually, 18 hotels were invited to attend the special award ceremony.

The Courtyard Dubai is close to the Maktoum International Airport so ideal for those taking flights to Dubai. On-site, the hotel offers guests a gym, free parking, 24-hour room service and broadband access in all of its 165 rooms.
