New Dubai hotel opensA new mid-market hotel could appeal to those people taking flights to Dubai in the near future.

Citymax Hotel, a part of the Group Landmark, has opened its second property in the UAE state as demand for rooms continues to grow.

The Citymax Hotel Bur Dubai follows on from the success of the Citymax Al Barsha, which has seen an increase in occupancy levels since its opening in May.

Michael Weyland, general manager of Group Landmark's hotel division, said: "A decade ago the UAE may have been considered a stopover option, today it has firmly established itself as a holiday destination in its own right."

He added the introduction of cheap flights to Dubai by budget carriers has also boosted the region's popularity with holidaymakers.

The new hotel is around twenty minutes from Dubai International airport and is close to a number of heritage sites in the region as well as the Dubai World Trade Centre.
