Dubai airline expands fleetA low-budget airline in Dubai has expanded its fleet to met increasing demand.

The chief executive of flydubai confirmed the carrier has added four new Boeing 737-800 NGs in recent weeks as it plans further expansion.

Ghaith Al Ghaith said: "These new additions show flydubai's continued growth, with 13 planes now servicing 28 routes in just 18 months.

"These numbers show phenomenal growth and we show no sign of slowing down, with ambitious growth plans that see us expanding still over the coming months."

He added that new aircraft will also provide "added comforts" for passengers taking flights to Dubai and other destinations.

A major upgrade for travellers taking flights to Dubai with flydubai includes a new in-flight entertainment system that makes use of start-of-the-art technology to provide a range of onboard media.

In the first year of operations, flydubai handled close to 750,000 passengers and 8,000 flights.
