Tourism boost expected in DubaiAn increase in the number of people booking flights to Dubai is expected by the emirate's tourism bosses in the next four weeks.

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing said that February is a good time of the year to visit because the weather is very pleasant and there are a number of events and activities to keep travellers occupied.

Exhibitions at heritage sites in Dubai, along with entertainment programmes depicting Arab culture, are some of the major attractions for visitors to the Middle Eastern destination.

"With its varied flavours and deep roots, the Arab culture and hospitality has a special place in the hearts of people worldwide," explained Anwar Al Hanai, director of Heritage and Diving Village.

"In the past few years, we have witnessed a major increase in the number of tourists to the heritage sites, especially during the winter months, and accordingly the [tourism] department is focused on pursuing its aggressive promotional activities."
