Gulf Air launches new onward flights from BahrainVisitors to the Middle East will have more onward options this summer, after Gulf Air announced a new route from Bahrain to Kabul in Afghanistan.

These flights will run four times per week from June 15th onwards and come after the airline recently launched a series of other routes from the Middle Eastern kingdom.

Gulf Air will also be running new flights to Geneva, Milan, Basra, Isfahan and Addis Ababa, as part of the largest network in the region.

Samer Majali, chief executive officer of the company, said that Afghanistan represents a "high growth potential" for airlines, adding that the company has carried out "extensive safety and security audits" on the airport.

As a result of the new route, which will be served by a 136-capacity Airbus A320, Gulf Air will become the only full-service commercial airline to provide flight connections to Kabul.

Gulf Air's international network also includes flights to Dubai, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
