Lufthansa concerned about night flight banLufthansa has urged politicians not to put a ban on night flights to Dubai and other Middle East destinations, which it claimed would damage its chances of success in the region and drastically diminish service levels.

The firm's chief executive officer Christoph Franz told reporters: "The threat of a night flight ban is hanging like the Sword of Damocles over Frankfurt."

He claimed that the move would severely damage the European aviation industry.

Lufthansa recently announced that it was increasing its flight capacity to Abu Dhabi by ceasing its service to Muscat.

The move follows hot on the heels of Gulf Air's decision to increase the number of flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi it offers.
