Dubai may host Youth Olympic GamesSports fans may be planning to book cheap flights to Dubai soon after the emirate announced it was considering plans to host the Youth Olympic Games.

The nation is currently planning to bid to host the 2024 Olympics but has decided that in order to show it can successfully host such a large-scale sporting event it first needs to showcase some smaller competitions.

As a result, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) has stated it will apply to play host to the youth version of the international sporting contest.

"It will be an added value for our bid and a credit to the country to do something like that. In addition, it would be like a rehearsal for the country," said Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, the secretary general of the NOC.

Some people on cheap flights to Dubai may have had the chance to see the Webb Ellis Cup, as it made a brief stop en route to New Zealand.
