Dubai sees rising duty free sales People taking flights to Dubai could be planning to take advantage of the great duty free offers that are available in the emirate.

The latest figures to be published by Dubai Duty Free showed the group is expecting to see its annual sales double in the years to 2018.

It forecast the sales will be valued at around 10 billion United Arab Emirates dirhams (£1.7 billion) in just six years' time.

To reach these goals, the group is planning to expand its retail space at Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central to offer even more products to consumers.

Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman of Dubai Duty Free, said: "The government also recently approved that a Concourse 4 will be built in 2016 at the existing airport."

Some people taking flights to Dubai in the coming years could be planning to stay at a new super hotel in the emirate, which is set to boast a theatre like those seen in Las Vegas casinos.
