Holidaymakers taking flights to Dubai who plan to stay in the Burj Al Arab luxury hotel could be lucky enough to be served by the best receptionist in the world.

Front desk employee Olga Valceva was named as the best receptionist at the International Receptionist of the Year Competition which took place last week in Prague, Hotelier Middle East reported.

Ms Valceva won the prize after winning the first round against other workers in Dubai, before being put up against the top employees from 13 different countries, including the UK and New Zealand.

The judging involved taking part in interviews and role play situations under the guidance of a panel of front of house experts.

Travellers taking flights to Dubai in order to attend the ongoing shopping event in the emirate could decide to seek out the world's largest silk carpet, which is currently on display at the Carpet Oasis.
