Flights to Egypt still popular with BritsBrits are expected to continue booking flights to Egypt in 2010 as well as a few other non-eurozone destinations, a tourism expert has said.

Lucy Huxley, editor of Travel Weekly, explained that the travel industry is hoping for an improvement this year after the recession forced some holidaymakers to forgo their annual break in 2009.

She pointed out that value-for-money destinations, such as Egypt, will still be popular among tourists this year.

"Non-eurozone destinations such as Turkey and Egypt continue to be in demand as consumers look to make their money go further," Ms Huxley said.

Last month, the Post Office released its annual holiday money report, which revealed that British travellers can get 14 per cent more Egyptian pounds for their money in 2010, compared with a year ago.

The organisation attributed the gains to the strengthening of the pound over the past 12 months and noted that people booking flights to Dubai will also be better off this year.
