Book flights to Cairo to see the NilePeople who want to explore the history of ancient Egypt should consider taking a cruise along the Nile River, one newspaper has advised.

According to the Times, it is important that travellers pick an interesting section of the route in order to make the most of their time in the country.

The publication suggested taking in the section of the waterway between Luxor and Aswan, which will take tourists through the Valley of the Kings and past numerous temples and tombs.

Anyone who selects this option should book flights to Cairo and make sure that they leave enough time to explore the country's capital as well, the news provider noted.

Visitors who take to the water to discover the region can view the ornate burial chambers of Egypt's most famous pharaohs, including Tutankhamun and Ramesses VI, as well as seeing some of the most impressive ruins from the ancient civilisation.
