Egypt ideal for shark divingEgypt could be the ideal destination for those looking to take a dip with sharks, claims a travel writer.

Anna Seaman, writing in the Daily Mail, described her recent trip to Egypt and her experience scuba diving in the southern Red Sea.

People enjoying cheap flights to Egypt could also be tempted to take a boat journey off the coast of Marsa Alam to see hammerhead sharks in their natural habitat.

Ms Seaman explained that swimming with sharks can sound dangerous but actually it is an amazing and enjoyable experience that could be ideal for scuba diving and marine fans.

"Hammerheads might be dangerous predators to smaller fish, but scuba divers are far too big and alien to be attacked - if anything, they are more wary of us than we need be of them," she said.

Marsa Alam is one of Egypt's top Red Sea destinations for diving enthusiasts and can be accessed via Cairo International airport.
