Night-owls can now fly Air IndiaPeople looking to save money on flights to India could consider flying with Air India.

According to the Hindu Business Line, the airline has re-introduced night flights in order to offer a discount for air passengers who may be struggling with raised fares during the day.

The flights will operate from 23:00 to 05:00 local time and will be sold at a 25 per cent discount from day flights.

A senior Air India official said: "The night flight can be looked at as an attempt by Air India to tap a growing section of travellers [who are] willing to pay a bit extra for flying in comparative luxury and comfort."

The night trips will make up the domestic leg of an international journey and will include flights to Mumbai among other places.

Air India is the national airline for the country and is state-owned. It connects some 120 destinations worldwide and includes 12 gateways in India.
