New kiosks to speed up flights to IndiaA series of new self-service kiosks could make life easier for those travelling on flights to India, it has been reported.

According to the Economic Times of India, Kingfisher Airlines is to implement the Red Cube machines by the end of the year in a bid to cut waiting times for passengers.

Currently, only Air India and Jet Airways offer the self-service ticketing and check-in facility, which can reduce waiting times from six minutes to only 60 seconds per passenger.

Kingfisher Airlines marketing head Vikram Malhotra said the carrier hopes to implement the kiosks in other places such as malls and hotels soon, so that air passengers can access them before leaving their place of residence.

Business Week recently reported the opening of a new runway at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

It is now the country's longest runway and opened for commercial flights on August 28th, which could be good news for people going on flights to India.
